UMi Cross now in production

UMi have posted photos of the first UMi Cross phablets to come off the production line, could a full launch be just around the corner?

The UMi Cross is the latest Android handset from team behind the UMi X2. Internally the new phone is very similar to the X2 with the same 1.5Ghz MT6589T processor, 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel rear camera, however a new body and much larger 6.45-inch 1080 display are now present.

Gizchina News of the week

According to our sources the first UMi Cross phablets are in production as we speak (photos can be seen on their Facebook page here), and a limited batch will be available to reviews and lucky early customers in the next week or so.

Like many companies UMi are adopting a much larger display and were actually inspired by the big screen Sony Xperia Ultra (which I actually really like), but the Cross hasn’t been design as UMi’s next flagship device as the small startup are planning a UMi X3 for launch next year!

Unfortunately UMI in india have picked up the worst reputation , as cheats..they prematurely collected millions of $ in advance payments from tens of thousands of gulliable indians, promising early delivery of x2 & then simply took months altogether to fulfil..resulting in a low reputation and a moniker of chink cheats..UMI needs to improve its marketing arm..

      It’s not UMi’s fault, it’s Androidguruz.

UMI was equally responsible for the chicanery..they can not be absolved just by pinning it all on Androidguruz.. Anyways reputation once lost will never be regained..is the first principle of fair commerce.

Don’t you understand? AndroidGuruz are the ones responsible, UMi are in no way responsible in any of this. It’s like buying a JiaYu phone from an AliBaba seller and then blaming JiaYu because it didn’t reach you.

Just out of interest did umi in India ever delivered customers anything in the end? Their website still going and seemed like their marketing was actually too good but their service and delivery poor.

I wish they’d stop it with these tablets which they call phones. They’re just too big.
There was a trend with mobile phone where bigger is better but this has to stop. 5-5.5 inch is big enough and 1920×1080 is a high enough resolution so please stop this madness. I’d rather have good battery life or a slim and light phone not a brick like this one.

Phablets are great for those of us past 45 who are unable to see those itsy bitsy fonts and icons on tiny phones, and consistently having onscreen keyboard typing issues. Yes there it a chunk of the population who are aging and still want to play with their gadgets. So I say, bring on the big phones for us blind smartphone fanboys.
