Pomp C6, 5.5-inch 1080, 2GB RAM, NFC on sale for $290

The Pomp C6 is a feature packed flagship smartphone available now for less than $300.

The Pomp C6 is a quality quad-core flagship phone at a time of 8-core devices. The decision for Pomp to launch their range topper with an older quad-core chipset might seem like an odd one from a marketing point of view, but actually is quite smart.

While most Chinese phone makers compete with one another for supply of the latest 8-core chips and struggle with whatever compatibility and optimisation issues the new chips may need fixing, Pomp will have an easier time of things and should be able to bring a sorted device to customers. The quad-core chip also allows Pomp to offer a phone with great performance and high specification at a low price.

“great performance and high specification at a low price”?

MT6589T for 290$ is neither cheap (MT6592 phones with FullHD and 2GB/32GB are 300-320$) nor powerfull (even low budget MT6582 is faster).

Sorry, but this phone is pure fail for me as you could buy similar devices for less money since for nearly one year

Phone is great, i think, but at this price the presentation video should be a little more accurate and done with more enthusiasm and professionalism.

i’m a pretty big fan of this phone, sure it doesn’t have the power of the octa core phones but honestly who cares, all the nomral phones i want from zopo are elither overprice *coughcough*zp990*coughcough* or completely sold out X_X zp998 by zopo. i mean sure there’s other companies and yeah one could do alot of foot work to find better phones in the dark corners of the web, but honestly… from what i’ve seen on that website. it has everything i want. sure i do tons of gaming in stuff but honestly it isn’t anything outside of music games and a few casual games. anything else i have consoles ^_^ tho yeah i feel what highwind is saying. it does look kinda fail. i hope there’s better videos out there to show off the features better. i mean damn dat lag X_X
thanks for the heads up andi!

Not interested unless it has 4g LTE, I live in London and we have 4g now, all the new phones have 4g LTE now, any idea if there is any 4g China mobiles available?

Hi Andi, in your opinion how good an alternative is it to an UMI Cross please. Their official spec lists WCDMA 850/2100MHZ but you confirmed it to have 900 – could that also be the case here? Also, please regarding the screen, it is hard to judge the viewing angels from the video, is it IPS? I very much like the design and the specs seem perfectly balanced for the price point for somebody who does not need super fast performance/4G. So if the phone has 900Mhz WCDMA you will just have made my day as I do not like the plastic look of the UMI (though the big screen is nice and they also have NFC now). Thank you for your reply.

I would seriously think before buying a POMP. I have their last effort. Said 13MP got *MP Said 2000 battery got 1750. Phone locks into stray wifi signals and stops. And when I got my chinese student to speak to the service desk after my attempts the guys said I am too busy to talk to you and hung up. So I am now trying to have Paypal reverse my payment. These phones seemed to be a good idea but with lies and lack of communication I would not take a free unit from them. So much for integrity and honesty.

Well after the incident tonight I am back in the market for another phone. Dropped out of my front pocket onto the concrete floor cracking the glass. Dam I thought to myself actually a little bit stronger. This was the Pomp W99 I brought last year. A few problems with that one. The major being the tiny antenna which is on the back case produces a very week signal and in the train I have no way of using the it to either receive or call out. Were others around me are talking away. The other problem is when you are talking and there is another Wifi signal in close proximity this little gigger get confused and stops working which is a big problem. Now I have still to hear from either Paypal or the Company and with this one damaged can hardly send it back. I have enjoyed the feel of the W99 but just wonder if they are really wanting to be in an international market place seeing the last time we got to speak to somebody he said he was too busy to talk and hung up, then would not answer the call at all.

The biggest problem with their last model is the antenna is not worth the anyone buying it. As there is no reception, The antenna is stuck to the back cover plate. and is too small. But the company will not respond to requests.
