JiaYu’s low-cost Android smartphone is a budget device on a whole new level when compared to the Xiaomi Hongmi and Huawei 3C (they have the JiaYu F2 to tackle those devices). The F1 will be a $50 smartphone (in China) when it finally goes on sale which is good for a dual-core smartphone packing a 4-inch display, Android 4.2 and 5 mega-pixel main camera.

I was really hoping for a 960×540 resolution screen 🙁 Will it be running Android or Lewa? Any info about an update to a newer version of android then 4.2.2? If we could get an official 4.4 firmware on it performance should be better on 512mb ram.

u.s moto g phones got 4.4 weeks ago, some eu countries got it a week ago and uk got it yesterday.

You are correct that chinese phones don’t have 4.3, i suspect that is due to there not being drivers for mali 400 for android 4.3, this phone also has mali 400 and would therefore have the same problem. Hence why i asked whether this phone would get a firmware update.

      It’s a $50 phone. Comparing it too $100+ phones isn’t fair.

    For 50$, it’s a very good phone. And with a 2400mah batterie!

Double core and non HD resolution, the autonomy willl be much better than a lot of igh end smartphone :p
    But i agree, qhd it’s a minimum :/
