In October of last year, Mediatek announced it was preparing its own 64-BIT processors for
smartphones, now more
details have emerged.
According to sources in China, Mediatek have two processors on the way both of which are based on
ARM’s
Cortex A53 architecture. It is rumoured that the MT6752 will be an
octacore processor while the MT6732 will have a quad-core layout. Both will probably have 4G
lte.
Both processors should be more than up to the challenge of taking on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410
chipset which has similar
specifications, but is already on the market. It remains to be seen when Mediatek will unleash it’s new smartphone weapons.
