10 amazing Chinese phones we can expect to see more of this month

The following phones fit in one of the following:

  • Already launched but difficult to buy,
  • Teasers and launches on their way.
  • Launching within the next few months

To start the ball rolling let’s begin with a phone which has already launched.

Vivo Xplay 3S

vivo xplay 3s specifications 10

The Vivo Xplay 3S was the first smartphone to ever get a 2K 2560 x 1440 display. The feature packed phone also boasts 3GB RAM, a Snapdragon 800 processor, fingerprint scanner and 13 mega-pixel camera with F1.8 aperture.

You would think with such a beast of a phone Vivo would be splashed across the news for record sales and delighted customers. The fact is though that the Vivo Xplay 3S was severely delayed and only recently went on very limited sale! The good news is that the whatever problems Vivo had with the phone now seem to have been resolved and more Xplay 3S models are expected to be released later this week.

OnePlus One

We won’t be seeing anything of the OnePlus One device in the way of leaked photos or a launch, but we do have a suspicion that OnePlus have scheduled a number of timed teasers to keep interest in their phone going.

The first teaser rumoured to be on the 6th March and will probably be the details of the processor on the ‘no compromise’ phone. Details of the display, battery, camera and other surprises will follow on a (possible) weekly basis, leading to the launch.

Xiaomi Mi3S

jiayu s1 vs xiaomi mi3

The Xiaomi Mi3S is a phone we just know will happen and with the Xiaomi festival just around the corner we believe this is when the phone will launch. As you can probably tell from the name, the Xiaomi Mi3S won’t be a new phone, but rather an updates Mi3. Updates are likely to come in the form of better front and rear cameras, possibly memory updates and the addition of 4G lte support.

Xiaomi Hongmi 2

Second-gen Xiaomi Hongmi alleged specs surface again: 5.5" screen with MT6592

The Hongmi still sells well but it is starting to look a little old in comparison to rival phones, The Xiaomi Hongmi 2 is rumoured to get a April 9th launch, the the Mi3S and maybe even a Xiaomi tablet.

Hongmi 2 rumours stretch back months, and it is generally believed the phone will get a 5.5-inch display, octacore processor, and even 4G lte. In fact chances are that there will be 2 new Hongmi phones launched this year!

Nubia X6

nubia x6

Scheduled for a late March launch, the Nubia X6 has been seen in official teaser images and spy photos. The device doesn’t differ that much to the current Nubia models but has a larger 5-inch display. Said display is thought to be a 2K 2560 x 1440 model, with a high chance of a Qualcomm processor, 4G LTE and 13 mega-pixel camera making up part of the specification.

Oppo Find 7

Another low-cost JiaYu , this time even more affordable at only $50 here in China. The JiaYu F1 is a dual core phone with only 512mb ram, dual sim, 3G and support for WCDMA and GSM networks. The 1F is not a powerhouse, but it is a phone which budget phone shoppers will greatly appreciate.

The only downside with chinese phone is that they tend to have under par camera picture quality. i rather have 1080p or even 720p hd screen with good snapper lens rather that 2k or 4k hd screen with rubbish camera. Its a shame that chinese phone manufacturers dont see this.

    • March 7, 2014

      i can not agree more,sir

quick question..i have a 720p quad core 4.5 inch mtk6589 smartphone..Is it worth upgrading to 1080p if i plan on gaming?or is the difference between 720p and 1080p negligible for 5 inch and below?

    • March 7, 2014

note 2 is 720p and note 3 is 1080p, i had them both, but later i want to save my money so that i kept note 2 and sold note 3. 1080p is better, but in many apps i can not feel the difference.

Why all these giant phones? ¬¬ My pants need bigger pockets

    • March 13, 2014

I can fit a well designed 5.5-inch in my pocket not problem. The Oppo N1 wouldn’t have been to bad with it’s 5.9-inch display had it not been so long.
