GFive will be the 3rd manufacturer to launch their own unique Android smartphone with rotating 13 mega-pixel camera.
The Gfive Kivu A7 joins the likes of the Oppo N1, Gionee Elife E7 (and a couple of Oppo N1 clones) in the niche market for smartphones with rotating cameras. The idea of a rotating camera on a smartphone may seem like a gimmick but in everyday use it can be a really useful feature, allowing a greater degree of imagination and flexibility when snapping photos.
The unit on the Gfive Kivu A7 will only be able to rotating through 181 degrees, quite a bit less than the Oppo N1, and only the right hand top corner will move leaving the receiver and light sensor of the phone in place.
There rest of the hardware is typical of any current mid range Android smartphone and includes a 5.5-inch display (possibly 720p), 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, and quad-core MT6582 1.3Ghz processor. We will have to wait until March 29th for the full specifications to be announced, but a price of 1799 Yuan has already been set.
