Pipo isn’t the most well known brand internationally, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the potential to put out quality devices. The T9 is an interesting tablet with some eye catching specs.
For starters, there is its Octa-core MediaTek 6592 CPU clocked at 1.7 Ghz, 2GBs of RAM a 13MP back camera and a 2MP camera on the front. It also packs in an impressively large 7200mAh battery and a 1920 x 800 resolution screen. It also includes 32GBs of expandable internal storage.
That screen resolution may seem a little, odd, at first. However, it is the native resolution for a lot of movies, assuming it has software to “remove” the black bars typically seen in a widescreen movie.
It also supports MHL mirroring, internal 3G support with SIM card slot for the WCDMA network (specific frequencies aren’t listed, but Orientdeal says it supports American carriers like T-mobile and AT&T) which will allow you to use it as an oversized phone.
Gizchina News of the week
There seems to be some disagreement about the Pipo T9 specs. Some sites lists it as having a 2 Ghz CPU and a 1920 x 1200 display while Orientdeal listed it with the 1.7 Ghz CPU I have listed, but also lists a 1920 x 1200 display. The specs I listed above come from Pipo’s official website.
In China, the tablet is available for the budget conscious price of $250 but is available internationally for the significantly higher but still not unreasonable price of $320. It ships with Android 4.2, thankfully with access to Google Apps built in.
The Pipo T9 seems to pack in a lot of the industry’s favorite features and has more than decent specs, although the screen resolution does appear to leave something to be desired, is it enough to pique your interest?
