Now, a Chrome extension that lets you buy the Xiaomi Mi 3 from Flipkart!

Residents of India have realized getting hold of the Xiaomi Mi 3 is no mean feat. Barring the first sale that lasted a little under 40 minutes, all sale rounds have ended well under the 10 second mark leaving a lot of to-be buyers high and dry.

8-10x is what appears to be the ratio between the number of registrations and the actual number of Mi 3 units that are available for sale (you need to register beforehand to be able to purchase the Mi 3 in India). Although quite a few users have been known to register more than once, there still is a great divide between potential buyers and the ones that actually get to purchase the device.

“We have automated the system, where right before the sale begins we would start pressing the ‘Buy Now’ button. The extension would do that and it’d do it with great speed and add the product to the cart. We’ve already tested the solution on many different sales and every time the product is added into the cart in less than 0.1 sec,”

Gizchina News of the week

A startup in the country has apparently ‘stepped up’ to save the people from this misery. BuyHatke have built a Chrome extension that automates the Mi 3 order procedure for the buyer. Of course, there are some prerequisites, are as follows:

  • You need to be registered for the purchase beforehand
  • You have to be a subscriber of BuyHatke’s Xiaomi Mi3 alert from the extension
  • You have to be logged in to Flipkart at least 5 min before the sale starts

While we haven’t actually tested this, it could be a boon for those looking to buy the Mi 3 that goes on sale again in a couple of days. If you do give this a go, let us know how it works out for you!
