If you caught the headlines last week then you will already know that Elephone have 2 x 2K flagship phones in development. Following up on that we have these exclusive renders of the device.

In May and June Elephone are planning to launch another 2 phones, devices which will sit higher than the Elephone P7000. At this stage the models are unnamed, simply referred to as Version A and Version B, but we do know some specification details and now have a good 3D view of the phones thanks to official renders.

It also looks like Elephone have gone for a single halo home button on the chin of the phones, but we don’t yet know if this means that the back and menu buttons will still be in the chin, or if the ROM will implement a type or virtual/onscreen navigation.

Other than being the first 2K (2650 x 1440) resolution phones from Elephone, other exciting details include the fact that Version A will feature an Intel processor and dual boot Windows 10/Android Lollipop, while Version B will get a powerful Mediatek MT6795 chipset.

Both phones will come with 5.5-inch panels, 4GB RAM and 20 mega-pixel main cameras.

    @Andi
Way we don’t talk about the changing in Elephones P7000 Presell?
“Notice for camera: Since IMX214 run out of stock and in order to meet
the production goal on time, some of P7000 uses IMX135 camera sensors.”

While it is bad timing, is it better for them to say it now or 6 months from now? People still have a chance to cancel their orders now. Elephone has done some shady things in this past but if anything this is the exact opposite.

The 135 is still a very good sensor, in fact the differences between the 135 and the 214 aren’t as great as people are making it out to be. The only major difference between the two is the 214 can shoot 4K video, the 135 can’t. Other than that the specs are almost identical.

OK with 135 being a good sensor but this not a way to deal with costumers. Real companies offer options to their customers, a way out or a compensation for whoever is fine with that option.
You can’t just simply switch the sensor and say “deal with it”.
In the west a company like that would last less than one year.

They are not saying deal with it. The phone is weeks from shipping, customers still have a chance to cancel their orders and get their money back or not order the phone at all. People have a choice, buy the phone knowing you might not get the 214 or don’t buy it.

Well, that’s something at least, but there’s still something in the story that doesn’t convince me. It might be the obsession of plot that bothers me all the times.
I have a feeling that everything was planned since day first. Obviously they couldn’t wait to come out with the news after 6 months because that would have meant the death of their business. Coming out now they still might look legit, while counting on people that won’t cancel their orders.
I won’t be surprised if in a few days they will come out with a free gift to prevent sales loss.
I’ll give them a yellow card for now and wait how they do in the future

They probably will offer a few free cases maybe some upgraded headphones etc. I don’t think they planned this from the start, if they did they would have just mentioned the IMX 135. It’s not like that’s a bad camera at all. It’s still a great camera.

That’s not true. If it’s the same sony sensor as the MI3 then it’s definitely 4K but it’s not “activated”. You have to install Cinema FV-5 V.1.31 not the following versions because the apk’s editor has deleted the 4K capabilities.(Sorry for my poor english)

      The news is here https://www.gizchina.com/2015/04/27/elephone-p7000-customers-told-they-may-not-get-imx214-main-camera/

Even with an IMX135 it is a good deal at $159.99

I think Elephone and Mlais are just on a great marketing campaign and are splashing allot of cash to have their phones put up regularly on tech sites. Fudzilla who never, ever published an article about any other Chinese brand than Lenovo, Xiaomi or Meizu suddenly did a full complex review of the Mlais Note and here almost every day there is something about Elephone. Thins start to smell a little fishy to me.

I don’t mean to bash on Elephone so much, but they are churning out new models, like it`s the Coca Cola Company, and all their previous models have had a really bad reputation regarding build quality. Mlais is just too new and unproven in the long run.

The P6000 was excellent and had no build quality issues. They had problems awhile back but most of those appear to be fixed.

Still man, the phone has been out for like 3-4 months. Wait until people use it over a year and we`ll see if there are any build issues.

Yeah, this is the only way they cam make it….. every month come up with new phone promising better spec to attract more new customers….
and trailing with all the promises like multiple OS changes and not delivering….

Plus, they quickly establish the reputation of a dishonest company (Elephone). Tempering with the image of their products (dat bezel doe…), lying about the hardware and software specifications… They’re the equivalent of that fat chick with the overly flattering profile picture. SMH fam…

Any word if they enabled the 480 fps vid recording feature of the mt6795? That feature is the only reason im hunting down mt6795 phones. So far none of the other 6795s have advertized that capanility.
