Xiaomi’s most expensive smartphone to date goes on sale today. The Mi Note Pro “redefines the high-end flagship market” with 2K display and 4GB RAM.
Xiaomi today have finally released the Pro version of the 5.7-inch Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. Originally seen during the launch of the Mi Note range a few months back, the Pro version of the phone has some major hardware updates over the standard version.
Externally Xiaomi have given the Mi Note Pro a gold chassis to distinguish it from the standard version. The screen has been upgraded on the Pro to a 2560 x 1440 panel from JDI with a pixel density of 515ppi, there is 4GB RAM, and a Snapdragon 810 processor.

In addition to a higher resolution panel, the Mi Note Pro also receives the same Sunlight Display technology as the recently released Xiaomi Mi4i which allows for better outdoor viewing.
Another major update is the amount of storage which is 64GB. This is easily the best update on the phone as the standard model has just 16GB and no option for an SD card.
The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro will be available to buy in China through Mi.com for 2999 Yuan on 12th May.
I’m interested to see how the Snapdragon 810 performs in this. At around $480 US it’s actually cheaper than Oppo Find 7 was when it released.
Guessing they dropped the price (from 3299) to undercut the competition since the announcement in January. HTC’s E9+ just went on sale here @ 3299 RMB or 3000 in HK.
Will it be available in other color options than white/gold from May 12th?
Only white/gold so you know it’s the Note Pro where as the standard Note comes in white/silver and black (yet to be seen in quantity).
Oh that sucks, I was really looking forward to get the Pro version in black 🙁
Hope they’ll release more color options later.
Knowing Xioami there will eventually be a black edition but it won’t be available for months. Also there was something about a bamboo edition a while back.
Both the black and the bamboo edition of the Note is available now. at honorbuy.com for instance. I hope it’s just a matter of time for the Note Pro to be available in Black .. but if it takes several months I might just go with the Note sans-Pro.
You never know with Xiaomi when it comes to alternate colors. That is one thing I don’t agree with them about.
