After being seen at TENAA last week, more details of the Gionee Elife E8 have surfaced surrounding the possible camera features of the phone.
Gionee’s Elife E7 even now is one of the better camera phones on the market thanks to it’s high end optics and 16 mega-pixel sensor, but what about the Elife E8?
Well today it has been rumoured that the next generation Elife model will feature an updated 23 mega-pixel main camera for even higher resolution images.
Gizchina News of the week
It hasn’t been confirmed, but the camera that Gionee could be using might be the OmniVision OV23850 sensor which is actually a 23.8 mega-pixel unit which take photos at a resolution of 5632 x 4224. The OV23850 also supports Phase Detection Auto Focus for fast focussing and HDR video.
Insiders have also linked the Gionee Elife E8 with having a new “lossless” Zoom feature for clearer optical zoom, although there are no details for this just yet.
The Gionee Elife E8 is due for launch later this year with 2K display, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8 mega-pixel front camera, 3250mAh battery, Android 5.0 and a fingerprint scanner on the rear.
The E7 launched for around $430 US if I remember correctly, so I would put this one at around $450.
That’s the good thing about Gionee devices the high prices don’t often last. Gionee prices remain high for about 6 months. After that six months they are released by all of the Gionee rebrands like Blu in the USA. Those companies usually sell them for less than Gionee did, at that point Gionee will usually discount their own.
