Teclast X98 Pro 4GB RAM Windows 10 tablet costs $258

We’re starting to see some genuinely powerful budget tablets coming out of China. After Rockchip, Allwinner and MediaTek, Chinese tablet makers seem to have found the right combination in the Windows OS and an Intel SoC.

The Teclast X98 Pro is a new device that does the aforementioned and more. If you missed it, let me quickly take you through the specifications.

The X98 Pro comes with a 9.7-inch  2048 x 1536 QXGA IPS display, an Intel Cherry Trail T4 Z8500 quad-core processor @2.24GHz, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. If you care, there’s also a couple of cameras in a 5 mega-pixel rear camera and a 2 mega-pixel front facing camera.

Gizchina News of the week

It is quite clear that the X98 Pro is pretty high spec’d. Out of the box, the device is supposed to run Windows 10 which should save you the process of upgrading.

The X98 Pro is on pre-order at Gearbest for US$258. You can check out the listing by following this link. Teclast also offer a Microsoft Surface-esque keyboard case and a stylus pen if you want to get the most out of the device.

We’ve a review sample on our way to us, and a review should follow soon.

if it was 12′ or bigger, i would have buy it, because i have been looking for something like this for a long time.
tablet pc with strong cpu and windows, just connect keybord and mouse and you have a laptop that wight less then a 1kg and big battery for 10 hours, all for a small price of 260$, it worth it.
too bad, i will wait for the next thing…….

it’s 11,6″ and doesn’t have pc or notebook replacing specs with 2GB of Ram, tho the rest is pretty good. but the poster above me asked for 12″ or more. no tablet will ever replace a decent speced notebook or even a desktop and on top of that NEVER EVER for less money than a decent notebook. will you get a decent notebook for 260$? no. so you’ll never get a decent tablet able to replace a notebook for less.

“Teclast also offer a Microsoft Surface-esque keyboard case and a stylus pen if you want to get the most out of the device” – where can I find it?!

    • September 11, 2015

Most reseller stores such as gearbest, geekbuying, everbuying and some aliexpress sellers should have it, but you’ll probably have to wait a bit.
