If you’ve been eyeing the new OnePlus X (full specifications here) but dread the wait that’s associated with almost every OnePlus phone, there might be some good news for you.
Reseller Geekbuying claim to have received a bunch of OnePlus X units, ready to ship. What’s more, GizChina readers can avail a discount by applying a coupon code (find it at the end of the post).
In stock is the OnePlus X 3+16GB version, i.e., with 3GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage. Also, you can use the coupon below only with the white version of the phone, which if I’m not wrong is a China exclusive.
Gizchina News of the week
The OnePlus X has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080p display, a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 2GB/3GB of RAM (2GB RAM variant again a China exclusive), a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 8 mega-pixel front facing camera and a 2525mAh battery.
The OnePlus X comes with the notification switch that we first saw on the OnePlus 2.
The phone is listed for $288.99, but using coupon code OPXOFFER you can get $9 off of the listed price.
I can but why would I ? 😀 I just got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 for less and I’m very happy with it.
Also for a firend a got an Infocus M810 for $150 when it was on sale and it’s a very good phone with the same hardware and I’d say with the same build quality as this one.
they’re both bigger though.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, just saying, they’re in a different category :p
True, not by much though. And while I was initially skeptic about 5.5 inch phones I find them quite OK now… sure a bit on the big size but it’s also nice having all that screen size. If you can also get them at a decent price why not ?
OnePlus used to be about value but these days they seem to be all about marketing and their prices are so and so …
If you want a 5 incher the Mi4c is at the same price and with much better hardware, though that one too seems a bit overpriced to me.
I’ve got to disagree on mi4c being overpriced, do you really think a sd808 at $250 isn’t a deal? Xiaomi is a company not a charity.
I just think the SD808 is a bit overpriced. Granted it’s got a good GPU and CPU but still …. I guess for me the Helio X10 ( in the Redmi Note 2 ) is quite enough and I’m not willing to spend at least $50 more for the SD808 in the Mi4C…. but that’s just me. And I did say a bit … shave $20-30 and it’s looking a lot better.
The SD808 will meet its match with X20 though and then the Mi4c will clearly be overpriced if it maintains the current price.
Anyway if we call the Mi4C a well priced device this is a bit expensive.
Phone prices are determined by more than just the choice of SoC, that is a significant factor but it’s not the only one
My thoughts exactly. Of course there’s more to it than the SOC but I was comparint Mi4c to Redmi Note 2 here and besides SOC and screen there’s not much difference.
SoC, camera (mi4c has better optics), RAM, USB (Mi4c has type C). All these contribute to a higher price.
No shady invite system, and the price in Europe is €270 so the ceramic one is going to be around €390? WoW
See my post above. Limited storage and design preferences may be a deal beaker for some.
If that is not critical, than mi4c is a better option.
