20,000mAh Xiaomi power bank leaked

Xiaomi’s online store briefly listed a huge 20,000mAh powerbank this morning that is likely to go on sale for the 11/11 singles day.

Xiaomi started a trend when they released their low-cost 10,000mAh portable power bank last year, now the market is flooded with really affordable power banks and an alarming number of fake Xiaomi battery packs.

With phone batteries getting larger all year, 10,000mAh might not cut it any more, and in a bid to go bigger and better Xiaomi could be poised to release a 20,000mAh battery pack.

Gizchina News of the week

Rumours started when a listing for a 20,000mAh Xiaomi battery was briefly found on the Xiaomi online store. The image was incorrect but the name of the product clearly labeled it as a large capacity unit.

Industry sources picked up on the leak and have been able to confirm that the battery pack will be made of 6 x Panasonic high-capacity batteries rated at 3350mAh each. With so much power available we could see additional USB ports in the battery and an all new design.

Pricing should be slightly more than the 109 Yuan 16,000mAh Xiaomi power bank with a launch date of 11th November, aka Singles Day, mentioned.

It’s posted by one of their moderators on first page. It’s legit to me. Could be that Redmi Note 2 Metal.

Okay, but 20000 mAh on 5V or on 3.6V? Since USB is 5V, if it’s on 3,6V, the actual capacity is about 14400 mAh.

Show me one 20000mah power bank that boasts real 20000mah. The same is with all the others capacity variants. Only one simple example: Xiaomi 16000 power bank can provide only ~11000mah real power. Which is still pretty good result in external battery’s wolrd.

Only one simple example: Xiaomi 16000 power bank can provide only ~11000mah real power. It’s rated @3.6V so if you’re right, it must provide a real 16000 but that’s not the case. Anyway this is still pretty good result in external battery’s world. I bought myself Cager B20000 and I love it no matter it’s real capacity is ~12500mah@5V. The best 20000mah power bank as for now is ROMOSS Sense 6 Plus which is providing ~14500mah real power@5V. One tip for all the people looking for big capacity power bank: They’re pretty huge and heavy. You can’t just put it in your pocket like a flash drive. 🙂
