Soft Gold OP3 will launch in July

oneplus 3 gold

If the silver finish on the current OnePlus 3 doesn’t suit your fashion criteria then you be happy to learn the gold model will be coming soon.

The OnePlus 3 launch has been a rather smooth ride for the company, especially considering this is the first time a OnePlus flagship has been available to purchase without invite.

At the time of writing only the silver version of the OnePlus 3 is offered, however it has been confirmed that the ‘Soft Gold’ version of the phone will go on sale in July.

If you simply cannot wait for the OP3 but need another colour there is also the option of picking up one of the official style swap covers in sandstone, bamboo and other finishes.

Do you think asus zenfone 3 deluxe or ZTE Axon 7 are better choices, they have problems with availability for now anyway…

I would prefer the ZTE for hardware specs, but the ASUS for Updates.

Well, the Zenfone 2 got updates and soon they get Android 6 (even though it still takes some time).

ZTE all the way. audio is a great deal rigth after camera and a good screen for whatever media consumption or acquisition you may have. Yet it has all the same power as well.
From ASUS the color options are what mostly call my attention….

Same to me, asus looks so damn good and the camera seems at least on paper, the best.

      Zuk Z2 Pro.

        June 19, 2016

But the Zuk Z2 Pro has only chinese os, all of those sensors are useless if you can’t use them properly.

Most of those sensors are useless no matter the OS, but I would be shocked if they don’t have an international ROM coming out. They included international LTE bands.

Anyway I think I will wait until July or maybe August.
Asus zenfone 3 deluxe, ZTE Axon 7, Oneplus 3, Zuk Z2 Pro, Leco LE MAX 2.

I would love Blue, Green, Red, Black, Copper anything but the same three boring colors of Rose Gold, Gold and Silver.

Will they produce the gold version with black front and gold rear (as on the picture) ? because there are only 2 versions on official website

I wouldn’t buy one until they released a black version. I am so sick of the boring metal colors on phones.

Will that happen though Balco? Will they release a black one at all?

I own a OP3 and wouldn’t exchange it for neither Zenfone 3 Deluxe nor ZTE.
Honestly for 399EUR it’s the best bang for buck, and the screen is – put simply – beautiful.
Plus camera is verrrry nice, and as added bonus 141.000 Antutu score.

      June 19, 2016

      How is the camera?
I only care about that and the screen

You probably saw the samples on the oneplus.net site….
And after taking a few shots well… they don’t lie. I haven’t tested bad light conditions yet, but in most situation when the light is at least “ok-ish” it takes really nice, saturated and crisp photos. Compared to the Oneplus One and an S4 at least.

Antutu does not matter though. It measures GPU and single core, while android is heavily multi-threaded and makes only basic use of the GPU to render the UI (even a weak GPU is enough).

Even for gaming it doesn’t matter a lot because it measures peak performance, not sustained (for long) performance. So it does not take in account things like throttling and temperature.

It’s a pretty terrible test that can only be used for online e-peen contests…

On the flipside OP3 is a great phone (used it), but its Antutu score has nothing to do with that…

        June 20, 2016

Let me rephrase it then (even if “added bonus” was so obvious)— Geekbench and GFXBench scores are also not too shy from the top 3 contenders.

        • Stef
          June 20, 2016

Geekbench and GFXBench also have some of the same problems as Antutu. They measure peak performance, when you’re gaming (or do anything intensive) you experience sustained performance…

Still, OP3 is immensely fast but not due to any of those, but due to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np3wfpTq_2Y

It beats S7 Exynos despite it being half the price. That’s impressive!
