New Cubot X16 model coming in July

Cubot will soon be adding another new model to their lineup and the Cubot X16 should be released in July. So what can we expect from it ?

Looking at the specs it’s pretty clear we are not dealing with any kind of a high-end device, but an oldschool lowend. Not anything from the ultra budget segment though, the quad-core MT6735A processor clocked at 1,3 GHz, 3 GB RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage are quite alright specs. Rest of the specs include 5-inch OGS display with 2.5D curve and HD resolution , 13 Mpix rear camera with autofocus and 8 Mpix front one with Intelligent beauty function. Battery will have 2700 mAh capacity and Android 6.0 Marshmallow is going to preinstalled. Phone will be available with hybrid dual SIM slot so either two SIMs or SIM + microSD card.

Gizchina News of the week

Cubot X16 dimensions are 143,5 x 69,4 x 7 mm and the price haven’t been revealed yet. But with such specs its surely in the sub-$100 range for sure. From the pictures lying around you can see that design-wise the Cubot X16 does pretty well too, but still it would need something more to stand out better in the sea of similar phones.

Apart from Android 6.0 there’s seems to be no difference between this and the former X16, right? Or will the design be even better?

So: downgrade on the screen (only 720p), better camera (front and back), 3 GB RAM, wifi upgrade (ac?)..
