Elephone have apologised to customers wanting to take part in their 12:12 sale by extending the shopping bonanza by a few days.
China does love to create new shopping days, and just a month after 11:11, we have 12:12, another excuse to offer “special offers” and “sales” to customers. 12:12 doesn’t have the same punch as the previous months sales, but the idea has already moved abroad and Elephone tried to bring some of the 12:12 magic to their business.
However it didn’t quite go as smoothly as Elephone had hoped and today when their offers began the Elephone server crashed leaving shoppers stranded.
The reason for the immense surge in traffic was due to the low prices that Elephone products were offered at. Sales began at just $12.12, rising in blocks each hour. Shoppers found the offers to good to pass up on though which meant the Elephone infrastructure overloaded and had a bit of a melt down.
To make up for the disappointment though, Elephone will run the sale again tomorrow and once more on the 14th December.
Sales will be held in 3 blocks as follows:
- Part 1. Items for 12.12 USD will be available at 4:00pm (GMT+8).
- Part 2. Items for 24.24 USD will be available at 5:00pm (GMT+8)
- Part 3. Items for 88.88 USD will be available at 6:00pm (GMT+8)

I think because there’s no traffic so thats why they have decided to extend. haha.
Dear Gizchina friends…. let me repeat my yesterday posting…
I will take the opportunity and share with you my little story.
I trusted elephone although many friends said that its not trust worthy…. I preordered an elephone s7 (from gearbest). And now the conclusion….
I received mail from seller that they cant deliver the phone and they offered refund.
So what we learned today? Trust or not trust ele???? Shame to ele , and all those who promote this scam company.
Thank you
Aristotelis
And today similar problem…
today their web had very slow respoding time, hope they’ll get bigger servers
Eletrolls not getting excited here? Hmm…
They should have thought of large amount of people trying to get into the web, it’s a shame they didn’t think of it and their servers crashed… 🙂
at least they tried…
Nothing surprising, couldn’t expect more from cheap chinese company
three days instead of one is definitely a nice thing for the customers
