Mi VR Play, Mi Live launched at India’s first Mi Pop

Xiaomi have announced the Mi VR Play headset and the Mi Live streaming service for the Indian market.

The launches took place during the Mi Pop event in India. Mi Pop is Xiaomi’s community event that has been taking place in China since 2012. Today was the first time that an Mi Pop event was organised in India.

The Mi VR Play headset (a VR headset) is Xiaomi’s take on the Google Cardboard (and it’s compatible with it). The Mi VR Play will go on sale starting 12 pm 21st December via Xiaomi’s offline channels and Mi.com for 999 INR ($15).

Mi Live is another launch that took place today. Mi Live is Xiaomi’s streaming service, where domestically-sourced content can be consumed by users. It was also announced that Mi Live will support VR live streaming, something that’s a first for both India and China for Mi Live.
