Meizu A5 was officially unveiled today as the first member of the “A series” models from the Chinese manufacturer. The budget device comes with an impressive price (just $103) but still offers good looks and decent specifications that will surely appeal to most novice users out there.
Meizu A5 – Design and technical specs
The budget smartphone retains the classic Meizu design of other similar devices while still offering a premium look with parts made out of polycarbonate materials with high-precision CNC grinding process. It’s dimensions are 144 x 70.5 x 8.3mm while its weight could be less I guess (140 gr.) given the fact that it’s supposed to be an affordable device.
The Meizu A5 packs a 5-inch 720p display and it’s equipped with a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 processor with Mali-T720 GPU, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB native storage which is thankfully expandable. It boasts a simple yet efficient 8MP main camera, with a modest 5MP selfie shooter placed in front, and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Meizu’s Flyme 6 OS on top.
It is already available in China with a price tag of 699 Yuan ($103) in 3 different color variants: Matte Black, Silver and Champagne Gold.
