After a long quiet period, Elephone seem to be back bringing some news about a really unique-looking device that will in some way revolutionize smartphone design, if it came to life. If you haven’t already, check out the image below to get an initial idea of what we’re talking about!

So, yes, that’s a sheet of wood on the back of that Elephone branded phone. While that may not look too innovative – we’ve seen various phone skins that make it easily achievable – we believe that Elephone are going to use a thicker sheet of wood or at least of the high quality kind that will feel better in hands. Sadly, we’ll get to know that only when we get our hands on it.
But there’s more! As some of the more astute of you will have noticed, the Elephone phone is also glowing from all around its frame. That’s not just an a photo effect to make the smartphone look fancier, the Elephone device will actually glow from its sides with a breath light effect, probably taking inspiration from Samsung’s side light notifications or RGB peripherals in general.
If confirmed this could be a really neat feature to have on your phone, even though we all know RGB lighting won’t boost its performance, it’s still nice to have something that looks different from the masses. Elephone calls this phone “a mix between nature and technology”.

I hope thats not just a concept art, beacuse that would be a nice, refreshing design. As long as it sports something better than Helio P25 SoC im interested.

I think Wooden design is a classic in the high-fashion market. So it’s a good attempt.
Trying to do a new creation is a good attempt. But don’t forget to do working on your previous phones battery problems and servicing problems.
Okay, Elephone always do creative things on design, but I just wondering the stock of S8.

I don’t think it would be real thick wood lol!
I think it would be metal or sandstone with wooden texture. Otherwise it will be heavy and i don’t think company will do that.
Well from the image what I can see and guess is, either it will have dual curved edges or it may equipped LED around the front edges and that will be something unique and out of the box 🤔
Will it be a budget device? Or a mid ranger? I can’t see the back fingerprint scanner so basically it the fingerprint scanner is at the front then the device won’t be a 18:9 ratio device
And it will be launched in 2018?? Elephone has launched so many successful devices this year already.
