Samsung’s Mobile CEO states that the Galaxy X will not be a mere gimmick

One of the most important days for Samsung’s mobile division has just passed and the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are now official. With that in mind, let’s talk about the legendary foldable smartphone the Galaxy X. Seems too soon to talk about it? The Samsung’s mobile CEO DJ Koh begs to differ.

Previous rumors pointed that the smartphone would go mass production during November last year with a 2019 release on schedule. As previously reported, the smartphone appeared last month in a private meeting during CES 2018.

According to a report published today, Mr.Koh is concerned that the Galaxy X may be judged as a mere gimmick from Samsung. The executive said:

Gizchina News of the week

“I need complete confidence that we’re delivering the best user experience when we’re launching a new category.”

No matter how you’re waiting for the upcoming Galaxy X, you have to agree with the Samsung’s CEO, no matter how long it takes for the foldable smartphone get available it may be considered a gimmick for the average part of smartphone enthusiasts. So in order to introduce a new concept of smartphone in the market, Samsung need to put all their effort in something that have its existence justified.

No more details have been disclosed by the company’s CEO, but according to previous reports we believe that the Galaxy X may hit the market on the next year in a variant that folds inwards. When the technology gets ready, and with a proper implementation, the company aims to unveil a successor that will be able to fold all the way inward and outward.
