The rumor mill for the upcoming OnePlus smartphone is more intense than ever. Furthermore, seems that the Chinese company isn’t really interested in holding some secrets regarding the OnePlus 6, even though we are 2 months (at least) of a release.
Today a new camera feature was teased by the BBK-owned company. Surprisingly the new feature will involve the well known alert slider, present in some of the company’s recent flagships, and that will indeed make a comeback on the OnePlus, but its functionality will be greatly expanded.

Today OnePlus shared a Tweet that includes a short animated video followed by the “Slide to Focus with the Alert Slider” description. This leaves no doubt of what new feature OnePlus is teasing with this post. Until now, the OnePlus Alert Slider has been reserved for controlling Sound Settings, Do Not Disturb Mode, and Silence depending on the position of the slider.
Apparently, beginning with the OnePlus 6 the company will expand the capabilities of this physical button. Users of the upcoming smartphone will be able to adjust and control the camera focus by moving the slider. Since OxygenOS is well known for being a custom software with a lot of options and possibilities, so even if don’t like the new feature we suppose that the company will add an option to disable it on the camera’s settings.
OnePlus is heavily focused on the OnePlus 6, and the recent number of rumors and leaks suggest a launch by the end of April or early May, we can’t affirm this since the company has been very punctual with its June schedule for the release of newer OnePlus smartphones. According to the leaks, the OnePlus 6 will feature the almighty Snapdragon 845 paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage on the high-end variant. Pricing still is a mystery, but a shady leak suggested that this may be the most expensive OnePlus smartphone to the date, reaching the $799 price tag, hopefully not.
