Alleged Xiaomi Mi 8 clears 3C and FCC certification

To mark its 8th years of existence, the Chinese electronics and software company, Xiaomi, will reportedly launch a befitting smartphone, and as per latest rumblings, that phone will be made official in few days time. While we are not sure what the Chinese company might call its 8thAnniversary phone, reports have it that the company might have decided to scrap the long-rumored Xiaomi Mi 7 for the Xiaomi Mi 8.

Recently, a leaked video of the alleged Mi 8 surfaced on the web with a focus on the in-display fingerprint sensor. On that video, a user was seen unlocking the Mi 8 with his fingerprint, right on the display. While we expect the device to debut at the May end event, the device Now has popped up on the 3C Certification Site as well as on the FCC website.

Listed in two variants with model number – Xiaomi M1805E2A and Xiaomi M1803e1a, the 3C listings confirms the device will come with support for support for 5V3A / 9V2A / 12V1.5A charging (up to 18W)l while the FCC listing leaves us with no other option than to resort back to the rumor mill.

Previously, the Xiaomi Mi 8 was spotted in photos showing an iPhone X-like screen with a notch. The bangs part carries a structural light module, which simply hints at the Face Recognition feature. Moreover, the same photo revealed some design elements such as narrowed borders, chin, and forehead.
