Images of a phone alleged to be the Xiaomi Redmi 6 have made an appearance today. Xiaomi is all set to launch the Mi8 on the 31st of May. The Chinese phone maker will reveal few other products along with the Mi8. The Redmi 6 is one such rumored product.
The leaked images showcase a notched smartphone that looks quite ugly with the thick white bezels. The back is reminiscent of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It sports a dusla camera setup and the fingerprint scanner on the back. The display has definitely not been optimised for the notch. It kind of seems like the display of the Redmi Note 5 has been replaced with a notched display without making any changes to the software. The chin is as thick as the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The notch houses the front camera along with the earpiece and other sensors.
The leaked images detail the model as “D1SP1-1393”. This one’s likely to be a prototype of the Redmi 6. Rumors are rife that the Redmi 6 will sport a 5.99-inch display with an HD+ resolution. Under the hood, Snapdragon 625 is expected to power the phone coupled with 3GB RAM. Now these are just rumors and there might not be any truth to these images. There is a chance that this is a highly modded phone that made its way online and the Xiaomi Redmi 6 is nothing but a dream for now. And if it’s a reality, the Redmi 6 is probably in the development stages. We suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.
Xiaomi will be unveiling the Mi8 on the 31st May. Along with the phone, the Mi Band 3, MIUI 10 and a few other products are expected to be unveiled. The Redmi 6 might not be a part of this unveiling, judging from the timing of leaks and reports about the phone.
