Until today, what has been heard about the upcoming OPPO flagship was either a rumor or a leak. Nothing certain was said. But today, the company officially announced it will hold a new product conference in Shanghai on August 23 to launch its next-gen flagship in face of the OPPO R17.
According to the previous leaks, the forthcoming OPPO R17 will sport a 6.4-inch drop screen with a screen ratio of 91.5%. Plus, this will be the first screen covered with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6. As usual, the back will have a gradient effect. There will be two amazing color options, including a streamer blue and neon violet.
There were too many rumors concerning the internals. Some of them were claiming the OPPO R17 will be packed with a Snapdragon 710 chip like the VIVO NEX A and Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. But seems we’ll see a Snapdragon 670 SoC, which is Qualcomm’s latest mid-range chipset. It is based on a 10nm process technology. Thus, it is also the first Snapdragon 600 series chip with such a process node. However, the chip will be paired with an 8GB of RAM, a 128GB of internal storage, and a 3500mAh battery supporting VOOC flash charging.
