The development of 5G technology has gone into advanced stages and China has been at the hub of its development. According to recent reports from the Chinese Information and Communication Research Institute, China’s 5G technology has completed non-independent networking tests.
According to the current progress rate, China’s 5G plan to complete independent network testing by the end of this year to reach the pre-commercial stage. The 5G international standards have been basically established, and Chinese documents account for 32% of the 5G standards, including flexible system design, wireless infrastructure technology, large-scale antennas, service architecture, access network architecture, and 5G voice solutions.
In accordance with the requirements given by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 5G enhanced bandwidth application will be vigorously promoted. In addition, the cooperation between 5G, Internet of Things and Industrial Internet will be continuously promoted. China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom are all actively preparing. It is expected to expand the trial of 5G networks in more Chinese cities will commence at the beginning of next year, and official commercial use should be at the end of 2019 at the earliest. Of course, it is more probable that this will happen in 2020.
