Honor Magic 2 drives a vehicle without a driver thanks to its AI capabilities

The Honor Magic 2 is definitely one of the most interesting smartphones presented in this autumn, it’s not just for its sliding mechanism, but the new smartphone of the Chinese brand in the last days has in fact been analyzed also from the point of view of the amazing capabilities of its virtual assistant YOYO, starting from the one that allows the translation in real time of the phone calls.

Honor Magic 2 can even control a driverless car thanks to its virtual assistant YOYO.

The new flagship of Honor was able to go even further, the device was used to drive a car without a driver. The company was made that possible thanks to the considerable resources of Honor Magic 2, one of which is the powerful SoC HiSilicon Kirin 980 with its two NPUs.

The virtual assistant of Honor Magic 2 offers many “simple” features similar to those of the competition alongside with more advanced features in the style of Google Duplex.

Gizchina News of the week

During the launch event of the smartphone, Honor showed a video of YOYO that makes a hotel reservation for the user. The company then highlighted how, thanks to YOYO, Honor Magic 2 owners will be able to control DJI drones with their own voice, Honor’s CEO used his voice to ask the drone take off, take a picture of it and land it.

Returning to the control experiment of a car without a driver, the Honor Magic 2 was fixed on the dashboard, in an ideal position to keep the road under control thanks to its cameras. In addition, the car steering wheel has been suitably modified to be controlled by YOYO. It is worth pointing out that the experiment took place on a private road and closed to traffic.

A feature of this kind will hardly be made available, it is mainly a demonstration of strength, so it can not be excluded that soon Honor Magic 2 and his assistant YOYO show off some other surprising ability.
