Nokia announced earlier today that has signed a multi-year patent licensing deal with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo. While not many details have been revealed about the contract, we knew that the BBK-owned company will now rely on the biggest license holder (Nokia) in the mobile industry.

Nokia’s CLO and President of Nokia Technologies, stated simply that “Oppo is one of the leaders in the smartphone industry and Nokia will be pleased to welcome the Chinese firm as a licensee. This agreement comes to reinforce, once again, Nokia’s global licensing program.

Oppo now sits alongside other manufacturers such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei that have been using a great part of Nokia’s Intellectual Property for the past years.
