Earlier this week, OPPO and Flipkart teased the launch of a cheap smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor in India. The brand has today confirmed the identity of the device that is set to arrive in India as a Flipkart exclusive.
In a fresh launch teaser via a Flipkart microsite scheduling a launch event in India, the Chinese firm revealed that it would be announcing the OPPO K1 smartphone with the in-display fingerprint scanner on February 6th. The brand via the teaser once again affirms that the device will arrive with an affordable price tag, how affordable though we can not tell at the moment.
There are quite a lot of smartphones bearing the in-display fingerprint sensor in the market, these phones are mostly flagship models and such attracts a huge price tag. The OPPO K1 offer the same in-display fingerprint sensor at a mid-range price. The device first debuted in China last year sharing virtually the same specs with the OPPO F9, save for the absence of a rear fingerprint sensor.
It flaunts a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with water drop notch with a 25MP selfie camera, and a rear dual-camera set up – 16MP + 2MP. The OPPO K1 swaps the F9’s Mediatek Helio P60 SoC for the SD 660 SoC with either 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The device is powered by a 3500mAh battery and boots Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.2 out of the box.
