Xiaomi Mi 9 dark scene mode saves up to 83% power


We are now waiting for the official release of the Xiaomi Mi 9 because virtually all the hardware of this smartphone have been officially verified by top executives of the company. Now, Lei Jun has just released some information on the software of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9. He said that this smartphone comes with a dark scene mode, a dynamic wallpaper, and a colour screen display. Lei Jun said that the dynamic wallpaper automatically changes according to time. As for the color information display, the OLED screen uses almost all black power consumption characteristics. Xiaomi Mi 9 adds more than ten kinds of colour AOD styles for selection.

Xiaomi CEO emphasized that the dark mode enables full use of the screen characteristics of AMOLED display to achieve system-level global power saving. Lei Jun said that the dark mode interface can save up to 83% compared with the original light-colored interface. Of course, this is a theoretical value and the practical usage may not be so high.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 will be equipped with a Samsung AMOLED water drop display with a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and 3.6 mm thin chin. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 chip (AnTuTu score exceeds 388 000) and it also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 with a fifth-generation on-screen fingerprint sensor. In the camera department, this smartphone boasts of a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera coupled with a 12MP and a 16MP super wide-angle. Other features of this smartphone includes an ultra-linear speaker, 20W wireless charging, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, Infrared remote control, etc.
