In a few hours time, Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, will commence its first official sale of the Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition. This sale takes place tomorrow, March 1 at 10 am Chinese time. Priced at 3999 Yuan ($598), the biggest difference between the Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition and the regular Xiaomi Mi 9 is the design.

The founder and CEO of Xiaomi Group, Lei Jun, said that the Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition assembly process is a hectic one because all the steps need to be done in a 100% dust-free environment. The packaging of components, assembly, and transportation all need to be done in a dust-free environment. The internals of this smartphone are exposed and if dust somehow finds its way into the device, it will be seen thus the packaging process needs extra care.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition comes with a 6.39-inch Samsung AMOLED display. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship platform, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It has a 3300 mAh battery capacity which supports 20W wireless flash charge. In addition, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition uses a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor + 12MP +16MP triple rear camera setup.
