Exactly a year ago,  LG made a very laughable but bold declaration when it set up  the industry first “Software Upgrade Center” aimed at providing customers worldwide with faster, timelier Smartphone operating system and software updates.” The attempt was perhaps ‘aimed at redeeming its bad reputation with software updates.  It’s been one year down the line and the narratives appear worst than it was then.

It’s been about 9 months since Google released the final version of its latest OS – Android Pie, and while its main rivals and even lesser known OEMs from China have since released the OS update to a number of Smartphone under their portfolio, the same can’t be said of LG.

The Korean firm has only rolled out the latest OS update to two devices under its Smartphone range – the LG G7 One and G7 ThinQ. That could be changing soon, as the South Korean phone maker plans to seed out Android 9 Pie update to more LG devices later this year.

Specifically, LG has announced that the V30, V30S ThinQ, V35 ThinQ, and V40 ThinQ will be getting Android Pie update later in June. We are not sure when exactly the firm plans to roll out the update; however, users in its homeland of Korea will be the first to get such updates before rolling out to other regions.
