Yesterday, Qualcomm new top chip, Snapdragon 855+ went live and this is the new performance beast in town. As per recent speculations, the first smartphone to use this chip is the Asus ROG Phone 2. Now, this smartphone has made its way into the GeekBench database and its scores are better than all existing Snapdragon 855 smartphone.
According to GeekBench, the best Snapdragon 855 smartphone in terms of performance is Xiaomi Black Shark 2. The Black Shark 2 scores 3428 and 10771 (single and multi-core test respectively). However, the Asus ROG Phone 2 scored 3616 and 11103 in its single and multi-core test respectively. In addition, this smartphone will come with 12GB of RAM and will run on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.
Asus ROG Phone 2 Certifications
According to Nashvillchatterclass, Taiwan’s FCC and China’s CCC have given their certifications to two models of this smartphone. The FCC document come with model numbers ASUS_I001D & ASUS_I001DC while CCC’s document has model nimbersĀ ASUS_I001DA (18W charging) & ASUS_I001DB (30W charging).

According to the latest real image of this smartphone, Asus ROG phone 2 retains the design of the previous generation. It comes with no notch, waterdrop and without any punch-hole solution. It will also probably use the dual-speaker solution (one on top and another below).Ā In addition, the ROG Gaming Phone 2 also uses a refresh rate screen up to 120Hz, which is the highest refresh rate mobile phone screen to date. The company believes that the SD855+ will bring the ultimate Snapdragon Elite Gaming Experience.
In terms of AI, theĀ Snapdragon 855+ comes with the fourth-generation multi-core Qualcomm artificial intelligence engine AI Engine. This brings a highly responsive gaming experience. It supports more than 7 trillion operations per second (7TOPs) and can implement proprietary programmable AI acceleration. This smartphone will arrive on July 23.
