First launched back in May, Realme earlier yesterday finally brought the first in its first line of flagship devices – the Realme X to the Indian market. While the Realme X is the brand’s most powerful and spec-laden smartphone, it is however expected to refresh its budget line up.
The Realme 3 Pro – the most capable of the brand’s budget lineup launched back in April. The brand is now rumored to be working on a sequel to the device, and naturally, we should look forward to the Realme 4. Well, it appears that isn’t happening. The brand at the sideline of the Realme X launch in India confirmed to 91Mobiles that it might jump the Realme 4 for the Realme 5.
While we are not sure the reason for skipping the Realme 4 moniker, an unnamed Realme executive confirmed to the tech publications that it will launch the Realme 5 in the country just before Diwali.
Sadly, not much was revealed about the said Realme 5, however, the executive did hint that the device will be a more powerful device than the Realme X. Perhaps, it will be safe to assume the brand might be opting for the flagship SoC, similar to what Xiaomi backed Redmi has done with the release of the Redmi K20 series.
We already do know that Realme has plans for a 5G enabled smartphone later this year which will most likely use the recently unveiled Snapdragon 855 or Snapdragon 855 Plus. Perhaps this could be the Realme 5. Diwali holds on October 27, so we expect to see see more details about the rumored Realme 5 in the coming months.
