iFixit teardown highlights Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G problems

Galaxy Note10

Samsung has recently presented the brand’s new jewel, the Galaxy Note10 + 5G, and the smartphone has quickly become one of the top products most desired by users. However, before it arrived in stores, the iFixit guys got to teardown it.

The dismantling highlighted some positive choices made by Samsung, but also others that could be improved. To carry out any repair operation inside the device, it is necessary to fight against a lot of glue to remove the back cover. This is very fragile, so this operation is already more complicated than expected.

Even the battery is over-glued, making replacement difficult. Moreover, to access the display, it is necessary to disassemble almost the whole device and consequently replace even healthy parts, thus causing an unnecessary waste of resources.

However, Samsung has chosen to use all the same screws for the Galaxy Note10 + 5G. A choice that makes life easier for operators. Moreover, most of the components are modular and independent, therefore easily replaceable. However, this is not enough to increase the iFixit repairability score. In fact, the device has scored 3 out of 10, making it difficult to repair.

Recall that Samsung Galaxy Note10 + 5G features a 6.8-inch AMOLED Infinity-O display. With a resolution of 3040 × 1440 pixels. The panel therefore presents 498 ppi and the HDR10 + certification.
