Xiaomi unveiled a new Mi Watch Color yesterday on social media to everyone’s surprise but did not reveal any specifications of the same. But now, thanks to some pictures of the retail box posted on Weibo, we can confirm all the features of the product except for its price which will be disclosed on January 3 as part of the formal launch.
Although Xiaomi’s subsidiary, Huami is well-known for budget fitness-oriented smartwatches and Mi Bands, the company has not launched a single smartwatch under its own branding until last month, dubbed as ‘Mi Watch’. This wearable was announced alongside Mi CC9 Pro aka Mi Note 10, the world’s first phone with a 108MP camera. Now, after a few weeks, the company unveils another smartwatch named as ‘Mi Watch Color’, scheduled for launch on January 3.
Gizchina News of the week
Like with every Xiaomi and Redmi products of 2019, the company has revealed the design of the upcoming smartwatch prior to the launch yesterday. We even expect them to impart more information about the watch via social media daily leading to the launch. According to the retail box of Mi Watch Color, it will sport a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. Like any other smartwatch, it will also have a heart rate sensor, GPS, NFC for contactless payments, and other necessary sensors of activity tracking. It is also water-resistant up to 50 meters or 5 ATM. It will connect with smartphones via Bluetooth 5.0 and will run a forked version of Android 4.4. Lastly, it will get its fuel from a 420mAh battery which we expect to last for a single day of usage.
That being said, we are still not aware of the chip inside the Mi Color Watch, the size of the watch, and of course the price.
