Lenovo just announced launching an emergency rescue operation and donating all IT equipment needed to build the Caidian emergency prevention and control hospital in Wuhan. Lenovo’s effort should speed up the hospital’s completion; thus help fight Coronavirus.

Lenovo owns one of the world’s largest and most advanced factories in Wuhan. Additionally, the company has been one of the biggest import and export enterprises in the Hubei region for three consecutive years.

Now, according to the people in charge of the Wuhan Urban Construction Bureau. the Wuhan’s Vulcan Mountain Hospital – which is built in accordance to the model of the Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital – is being built in a race against time in order to finish it quickly as possible. The hospital will have a numbers of beds going between 700 and 1000.

As of the evening of the 24th, the Vulcan Mountain Hospital project has expanded the entire construction site to 50,000 square meters; which is equivalent to the size of 7 football fields. With a transfer of 150,000 cubic meters of soil, which would be enough to fill 57 swimming pools. The backfilling process to strengthen the foundation was completed on New Year’s Eve (last night); while the actual construction started this morning.

Going back to Lenovo’s efforts to stop the spreading of the Coronavirus. The company said that:
