HMD Global originally planned to release the Nokia 8.2 5G / 5.1 / 1.3 smartphones and Nokia 400 4G feature phones during MWC 2020. However, the company subsequently pulled out of the conference even before MWC officially canceled the event. On February 27, three new Nokia devices with model numbers TA-1223, TA-1227, and TA-1229 appeared on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification website. The announcement suggests that Nokia will hold a launch event in London. This is coming at a time where most manufacturers are wary of “ground-events” due to the coronavirus epidemic which is ravaging different parts of the world. In fact, the likes of Xiaomi/Redmi, Huawei/Honor and many other manufacturers have all scheduled online launch event. This is a kind of safety precaution to avoid further spread of the virus. If Nokia will go on with this event, then the company has to have machineries in place to prevent an unpleasant situation.
