Last week, both Microsoft and Sony disclosed the hardware specifications of the Xbox Series X and PS5. From a paper perspective (especially CPU / GPU), many analysts agree that Microsoft has a slight edge on performance. However, the SSD speed of Sony PS5 is much faster than the Xbox Series X. Nevertheless, the console war has never been simply a matter of hardware configuration. The game lineup and price are also important factors. In fact, the price is very important for the player’s decision. Earlier rumors claim that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Sony’s PS5 will come with a $500 price tag (minimum). There were even rumors that they could be as expensive as $700 0r $800. However, an ex-executive of Microsoft has somethings to say about the Sony PS5.
In an interview with ScreenRant, a former senior director of Xbox console marketing, Albert Penello, thinks PS5 still has a chance to win the “console war”. His words
“Actually, I think they (Sony) are taking some very sensible steps. I never expected to exceed 9Tflops, so I am not disappointed.
If this thing is actually $ 399, I think the deal is worth it. “
On paper, the Xbox Series X is much better than the PS5. However, players will also take into account the price of the console and the game lineup. Nevertheless, these two consoles are already much faster than PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. If the Xbox Series X is priced at $499 and the PS5 at $399, the console battle will be more intense and difficult to choose. Of course, the PS5’s $399 price is not official. Sony’s previous remarks indicate that it is seeking to make the console as cheap as possible. It is doing this to convince PS4 users to upgrade to PS5.
