OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8 spec-sheet leaks online

OnePlus 8 Pro 5G

While brands are still cancelling their launch events in India, the current lockdown situation is quite a spurring opportunity for leaks to come in and reveal more information about upcoming devices. Exactly this has happened as a detailed spec-sheet of the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro has surfaced online yesterday, thanks to a tip by Ishan Agarwal. While we’ve seen similar information trickling down to our feeds in the past, this is a comprehensive spec-sheet that sheds light on most aspects of the OnePlus 8 series hardware.

Coming to the standard model, the first thing that my eyes look for are the camera details. The leak talks of a triple sensor setup with a 48MP main sensor + 16MP + 2MP combo. The phone is supposed to be smaller than the Pro variant, hence the smaller 6.5-inch 90Hz screen powered by a 4,300mAh battery. There’s also no IP68 rating on this one and we won’t see wireless charging either. The OnePlus 8 Pro on the other hand not only has wireless fast charging (30W) but also reverse wireless charging (3W).

The Pro model has two 48MP sensors with the addition of an 8MP + 5MP assisting lenses. Now, this leaves questions as to what exactly are these sensors but we could take a leaf or two out of the Find X2 Pro to get some hints. However, we might not see such a formidable setup on the plain vanilla OnePlus 8. Colour options are common between both the variants.

The series is expected to go official sometime in April, but considering the current turmoil in India, it might be delayed to May (in India) when things hopefully get back to normal.
