Earlier today we reported about the HTC Exodus cryptophone being a total failure as it would take over 170 years to earn back its initial cost of around 219 euros. But it’s not only bad news for the phone maker, or at least we hope so. The company is indeed apparently planning on releasing a new device: the HTC Desire 20 Pro.

According to news site GSMArena and renown leakster Evan Blass, HTC is – in fact – working on a smartphone code named “Bayamo”. This device should then be renamed to HTC Desire 20 Pro for its release.

Anyhow, the leaked render portrays a handset with a punch-hole camera in the upper left corner, which would be a first for HTC. We also seem to have some rather slim bezels around the display.

Moving onto the back, the Desire 20 Pro appears to feature a quad camera setup. The four cameras are aligned vertically in the upper left corner, with a design very similar to the Oppo Reno 3 (image above). This means we have a main camera bump with the first two lenses and an additional bump with the other two at the bottom. Meanwhile the flash has been placed independently on the right side.

In the schematics we can also see the fingerprint scanner in the middle of the back cover, which would suggest we’re looking at a mid-ranger. This is also somewhat confirmed from a GeekBench score leaked a couple days back which indicated the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 series chipset; more specifically a Snapdragon 665, along with 6GB of RAM and Android 10 as operating system out of the box.

Finally, another leak suggests HTC Desire 20 Pro should include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Definitely a cool feature to have, but will it make a difference? We’ll probably find out very soon!
