Huawei to launch a new version of the P30 Pro which supports GMS

Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is struggling to retain its market position with the US ban in place. Despite the ban, the company is still releasing new smartphones and these devices are selling well in China. Earlier this year, the company released the Huawei P40 series which brings a new generation of camera technology such as the super-sensitive Leica Penta-camera and 10x optical zoom. These smartphones come with Huawei HMS and AppGallery. However, without Google Mobile Services (GMS) these devices will not sell well outside China.

Now, there are indications that the Chinese manufacturer will launch a new version of the P30 Pro which can install GMS. According to media reports, two new phones recently appeared on Huawei’s German official website. One of these devices is the Huawei P30 Lite New Editon while the other is the P30 Pro New Edition. As of now, there is no official description of these smartphones.

Huawei will cooperate with Vodafone Germany to release this smartphone.  Recall that the Huawei P30 series is Huawei’s last flagship that used Google’s GMS. Last September, Huawei said the P30 series shipments exceed 17 million. This is the highest sales figure for the P series and there are speculations that its lifetime sale will exceed 20 million units.
