iPhone 12 will have a 4G low price version – Analyst

Apple iPhone 12

The development in the 5G era is already in full gear and many OEMs already have 5G devices. Even inconsistent companies like HTC have a 5G smartphone. However, American manufacturing giant, Apple, does not. If we look at the speculations so far, the iPhone 12 series will all support 5G and all use an OLED panel. Apple’s cheaper model is usually the LCD model. One thing we know for sure is that Apple needs to keep the prices low. Both OLED and 5G are parameters that will keep the price up. So, how does Apple intend to sell a “cheap” iPhone 12?

According to an analyst, Daniel Ives, the iPhone 12 will have 4G models. This is a more convenient way for Apple to lower the price. As of last year, the starting price of the 64GB version in China was 5499 yuan ($776). However, after a series of price cuts, this device sold for 3900 yuan ($550). This year iPhone 12 will start with 128GB. The 5nm Bionic A14 processor, Qualcomm’s baseband, and other upgrades are expensive. However, Apple will no longer include standard headphones. This is also part of a cost offset.

This may be necessary to maintain the same price level as the iPhone 11 series or at least close to it. The 5G version of the iPhone 12 also has differences in the support of the millimeter-wave and Sub 6GHz bands. This will make it usable in different regions. Undoubtedly, all efforts are a manifestation of Cook’s concept of aligning marketing. Android 5G mobile phones are already in the market. According to reports, all “iPhone 12” models will go into production next month. However, it is not clear whether all models will hit the market at the same time. Although Apple is likely to release its new product line in September as usual, analyst Guo Mingji and others have previously claimed that due to production challenges, the high-end mmWave 5G-enabled iPhone 12 high-end models will face postponement. Due to the change in antenna packaging design in early April, the production of mmWave iPhone 12 will be “postponed”. The entry-level “iPhone 12” model should support sub-6GHz 5G.

We expect Apple to release four new iPhones later this year. The new series includes two models with 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch displays. In addition, it will have another two ‌iPhones (Pro models) with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. All four models will come with OLED displays, 5G support, and a small notch. There are also rumors that the Pro model will receive a LiDAR sensor (lidar).
