Supposed Galaxy M41 has a gargantuan 6,800mAh battery

Samsung Galaxy M40

Samsung might be looking to revive the reportedly cancelled Galaxy M41 smartphone as the alleged battery of the device has got leaked online. Reports point that the device might have a humongous 6,800mAh battery. This is nearly double the amount of battery present on its predecessor. It also dwarfs most other mid-range smartphones in its segment.

Reports from Mysmartprice say that a Lithium-ion battery with a model number EB-BM415ABY has appeared on China’s 3C certification authority. The listing has a humongous 6,800mAh battery with support for 4.43V. This could mean the company might bundle a 15W Charger with the device.

Double the battery

While the battery is a rated capacity that is a typical value, the maximum range could extend upto 7,000mAh. And this might appear on the final specifications of the device. This is interesting and weird as the previously launched Galaxy M41 had an inferior 3,500mAh battery onboard.

Further, the reason this battery is believed to be belonging to Galaxy M41 is the model number. If we recall, the Galaxy M40 that launched a year ago, had a model number SM-M405F.

Gizchina News of the week

Galaxy M41: Where did it begin?

The newly rumored M41 hasn’t appeared on any certifications yet. But the battery is carrying a succeeding model number of M415 and this could mean a successor is very well on the track. This is also backed by a new set of images from Safety Korea which shows the battery and its certification.

However, this is totally contradictory to what was reported a few weeks back. The Galaxy M41 started appearing on renders back in March. It had a familiar form factor and a punch-hole cutout on the top left of the display.

Is the M41 being revived or could it be renamed to M51?

This was followed by a tip which said that Samsung was looking for display options outside of sister company, Samsung Display. However, reports stated that it could just strike a deal with TCL’s China Star Optoelectronics. Not more than two days later, a report followed this with the disappointing news that Samsung had cancelled plans for the Galaxy M41. The reason – the third-party display maker failed to meet quality standards.

That being said, Samsung might be looking to split the market by launching both Galaxy M51 and the M41 separately or just rename the successor of Galaxy M40 to a long-rumoured M51. Nevertheless, these early reports need to be taken with a pinch of salt while we wait for more info in the future.
