Recently, there were reports that Huawei placed a huge order with Visionox for its OLED display panel. Visionox OLED products have entered the supply chain of many first-line brand customers. These orders are coming from within and outside China. Visionox said, “In batch delivery when the cooperation with a single customer is still at the initial stages, there can be no public announcement”.

Furthermore, because the cooperation with customers requires confidentiality, there can be no official response to the rumor. Well, the Visionox official did not deny the rumors, he only declined to comment on it. This means that there could be some sort of truth in this.

Chinese OLED panel makers have been playing catch up to South Korean manufacturers like Samsung and LG. For now, Samsung is still many years ahead of Chinese manufacturers. However, we all know what happened with the LCD panel market. The Chinese took over the market which forced the Koreans to quit making LCD panels. Chinese OLED panel makers like BOE and Visionox are constantly growing.

According to reports, in the second half of 2019, Xiaomi’s orders to Visionox is more than 1 billion yuan ($142.5 million). Also, the latest report claims that Huawei orders will reach 2.5 billion yuan ($350 million), this is huge. A representative of Visionox sales said that the company’s display orders for Huawei alone will exceed 6 billion ($855 million) in 2021. There is also news that Visionox’s recently announced an on-screen camera technology. There are speculations that Huawei smartphones will be the first to use this technology.

Visionox is mass producing the on-screen camera solution

Visionox was established in 2001 and is the first OLED product supplier in mainland China. It is also the world’s first manufacturer of a 144 Hz OLED display as well as an on-screen camera solution.  Today, Visionox announced the world’s first on-screen camera solution. According to the company, it is currently ready for mass production. In addition, multiple terminal brands have already placed their orders and it is working to deliver.

The company believes that smartphones with this solution (on-screen camera) will hit the market pretty soon. It is not a surprise that these innovations are coming out of China. The country has been quite consistent in innovations over the past few years.
