Samsung begins development of One UI 2.5 for Galaxy S9 and Note 9

Galaxy S9

A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Galaxy S9 and Note 9 might get the latest One UI 2.5 rollout. This came as a surprise considering the three-year-old flagship devices were not included in their new three-year-update policy. Well, the South Korean giant has now started working on the One UI 2.5 update. This development comes from the Samsung Community’s moderator in South Korea.

One UI 2.5 for Galaxy S9 and Note 9 is now in works!

This report comes courtesy of TizenHelp. The report confirms the fact that the One UI 2.5 update will indeed arrive for the Galaxy S9 duo and Note 9 smartphone. One of the Samsung representatives in South Korea has claimed that software development has now begun. When asked about the tentative timeline, the representative informed the members that the update is currently in the development stage. This means there is no fixed tentative timeline.

I am in charge of Galaxy Note SW. Currently, it is in the review phase for the application of One UI 2.5 to the 9 series. Following the instructions from the management to prepare customers to experience various SW, we are reviewing the functions that can be installed and re-identified the current memory situation. Thank you.

Furthermore, Samsung is currently finalizing the features that will make its way to the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 devices. We already expected the brand to not include some of the features in the name of either compatibility issues or some other reasons. With that said, if you were expecting all the features to arrive on these devices, then that is not going to happen. In the final review, the chaebol will decide which features to keep and which to leave behind for the new update.
