Qualcomm Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Technology Announced

Qualcomm adaptive active noise cancellation

Qualcomm, today, launched a new Qualcomm Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. The latter can adjust the performance of the earplugs to respond to the user’s different in-ear fit methods. Also, it can adapt in real-time during the use of the earplugs in order to provide true wireless earplug users with a more comfortable ear experience and consistent sound quality.

Qualcomm said that its adaptive active noise reduction technology can reduce the need for earplugs to fit tightly. The fit will vary according to the user’s activities, such as running, walking, or moving the head. No matter how or where the user uses earplugs, Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise reduction technology is designed so that the performance is adjusted dynamically in real-time with the tightness and transparent transmission degree.

Designed to create a seamless user experience

Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise reduction technology is designed to provide users with an extremely seamless experience. Users can enjoy an excellent audio experience from the moment the user takes out the earplugs. They don’t need fitting tests, self-calibration, or trying a variety of earplug sets.

Not only that, but the technology can also run in almost all working modes of the earbuds and supports simultaneous work when the user switches modes. For example, this technology allows the user to switch from the answering phone mode to the music listening mode, and then switch to the voice assistant questioning mode. The switching process of all the above modes will not cause the interruption of the active noise reduction function. Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise reduction technology can also be automatically adjusted according to external environmental conditions. This will reduce the intensity of noise reduction in a quiet space. And accordingly, it will increase the intensity of noise reduction in a noisy environment.

Provide more choices and flexibility for developers

Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise reduction technology can be used as a Qualcomm reference design solution to help OEM manufacturers develop products faster. For customers who want to further provide a differentiated experience, they can use API to provide customers with customized solutions to create a unique Qualcomm adaptive active noise reduction experience. This technology also provides more space for developers to choose product shapes, including full-ear, shallow-ear, and semi-ear earplugs.

Qualcomm’s latest flagship Bluetooth audio SoC QCC514x series already supports Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise reduction technology. The Qualcomm QCC514x is designed to meet the needs of true wireless audio experience. It integrates support for voice assistants, top wireless sound quality, longer battery life, and many other features. Now Qualcomm’s adaptive active noise reduction technology will further enhance the overall experience of true wireless audio.
