Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G To Launch As Mi 10i In India

Mi 10i

Not just the Redmi Note 9 4G, but also the Note 9 Pro 5G is coming to India. Google Play Supported devices list hints at an Indian version of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. It comes with a new moniker which is “Xiaomi Mi 10i.” The phone that got listed on the Google Play Supported devices consists of the model number M2007J17I.

In my previous article, I talked about the Redmi Note 9 4G getting listed on the Google Play Supported devices. It is also an Indian version and its moniker is Redmi 9 Power. It seems like Xiaomi is really interested in bringing the newly launched lineup to global markets. We can say the Redmi Note 9 lineup is a success in China, thanks to its massive amounts of pre-orders.

Redmi Note 9 Pro / Mi 10i – Specifications

The Note 9 Pro 5G has a lot of takes from the recently launched Mi 10T-Lite smartphone. It features a huge 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The Note 9 Pro 5G has a 120Hz refresh rate making it buttery smooth. It also has a dot notch in the center of the display.

Coming to the camera segment, the Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with a rear quad camera setup. It comprises a 108-megapixel primary sensor. Yes, you heard it right! Along with the 108-megapixel sensor, we get a 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel depth sensor as well as a 2-megapixel macro sensor. 108-megapixel is really fascinating while I have the feels that Xiaomi has compromised on the other three sensors. The macro could have been replaced by a telephoto to make this phone even better. While we will only get an idea of the ultra-wide upon testing it.

Talking about the selfie, you get a 16-megapixel shooter. On the performance side, expect high-speed connectivity thanks to 5G support via Snapdragon 750G chipset. Mi 10i has a 4820 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It comes with stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a glass back.

Why Mi 10i Is Not Good For Global Markets?

Overall, the phone looks promising. 108-megapixel camera, awesome. Snapdragon 750G makes it future proof. But the bad thing here is the use of the Mi moniker. In China, this phone comes under the Note lineup. While globally or at least in India it will come under Mi 10 series. It means a fairly high price. Secondly, it means we should expect the Redmi Note lineup to get that advanced in global markets. If this phone doesn’t launch under Redmi Note, it is clear that Xiaomi wants these specifications under Mi 10 series, at least for now.
