Earlier it was reported that Apple will move some of its iPhone manufacturing facilities from China, while Pegatron and Foxconn have opened factories in India.

According to Nikkei News, Apple continues to move its iPhone and iPad production outside of China. Vietnam is expected to begin production of the iPad in the middle of this year. The report also mentions that the iPhone 12 will begin production in India this quarter.

Prior to that, Indian media reported that Apple plans to assemble the iPhone 12 line of smartphones in India, and smartphones labeled “Made in India” are already ready for release. The report also mentions that Wistron will begin production of the new iPhone 12 in Bangalore. With a plan to invest about $40 million, Wistron also wants to hire 10,000 employees for the new plant. The plant is expected to be fully operational by October this year, with about 1,000 workers already on the job.

Apple currently manufactures smartphones in India such as the iPhone 6S, iPhone XR and the new iPhone SE 2020. Sources say Apple is expanding local production because the iPhone hopes to reduce its dependence on China. At the same time, the production of iPhones in India is unlikely to lead to lower prices for buyers, although companies pay noticeably lower taxes for local production.

It looks like Apple is going to redesign many of its computers this year. Earlier we said that for the first time in many years the appearance of MacBook Pro laptops will change, but now there is similar news about other computers of the company – the iMac.

In particular, the new iMacs due this year will also look different. The current design is very many years old and the new models will look like the Pro Display XDR. That is, they will become more angular, like the new MacBook Pros. We are also promised thinner bezels around the screen.

Two new iMac models are expected this year to replace the current 21.5-inch and 27-inch models. However, there is no data on whether the diagonals will change.

Of course, the new iMacs will be based on Apple Silicon. Whether it will be an Apple M1 or some other platform is still unknown.

In addition, Apple is allegedly preparing a new monitor. They do not need to change the design, so the main difference will be in a significantly lower price. To recap, the current Pro Display XDR starts at $5,000. Of course, many Apple fans would like a similar monitor, but for significantly less money.

Apple is gearing up to release all-new iMac computers

Apple is currently preparing new MacBook Pro laptops for release. Significant design changes await the line. This was announced by the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities, known for his ties to the Apple production chain.

According to the analyst, Apple will release two MacBook Pro models – with a display diagonal of 14 and 16 inches. The new design will feature flat edges, without the curvature of current models. Ming-Chi Kuo describes the MacBook Pro’s design as “similar to the iPhone 12.” This will be the most significant design update for the MacBook Pro in five years.

The laptops will lose the Touch Bar with OLED display. Instead, Apple will bring back hardware function keys. The design of the MagSafe charging connector will also be revived. Also, the updated MacBook Pro will receive additional connectors. At the same time, all laptops will use Apple’s SoC, versions based on Intel processors are not planned.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, we can expect new MacBook Pros to be released in Q3 2021.
