Xiaomi To Debut New Snapdragon 7 Series Chip, Presumably Snapdragon 775G

Today, some developers found traces of Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series 5G SoC in MIUI code.

As shown, the Snapdragon 7 Series 5G SoC codenamed SM7350 is going to be the next-generation 7 Series 5G Qualcomm chips. So there is every reason to think we are dealing with the Snapdragon 775G chip.

At the same time, this means that Xiaomi will use this chip. Of course, you understand that the specific model is temporarily unknown. But we guess it should be a mid-range product of Xiaomi or Redmi.

In this regard, previously, Roland Quandt revealed that the Snapdragon 775G, code-named ‘Cedros’, will use Samsung’s 6nm EUV process.

Cedros is named after an island off the coast of Mexico. Qualcomm’s headquarters in San Diego is relatively close. The prototype of this platform scored more than 530,000 points on AnTuTu, which means that its performance will be much better than that of Snapdragon 765G, but it is still not as good as last year’s flagship Snapdragon 865. The SD865 on the same benchmark platform easily exceeds 600,000 points.

Not only that, the Snapdragon 775G seems to support LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash storage.

At present, Qualcomm has launched flagship platforms such as Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 870. Among them, the Snapdragon 888 uses a 5nm process and the Snapdragon 870 uses a 7nm process.

The Snapdragon 7 series platform has not yet been updated, and the new products may meet you in Q1 this year. Not surprisingly, first-tier smartphone brands such as OPPO, VIVO, and Xiaomi will use this chip.
